The Hero's Journey

In the "Hero's Journey, " a documentary wrap-up of mExpats, we learn about the lessons that Josh took from his experience  in Mexico. After leaving the country, Josh decides to abandon corporate life in order to pursue a life of music and creativity.  He explains his new found philosophy in an essay entitled:

"The New Economic Reality of the 21st. Century:

the Benefits of Early Retirement, Hoarding and the Public Library System."

Perhaps the writings of a madman, or perhaps those of a misunderstood genius, the piece still holds up today. Unbeknownst to Josh, at the time he was trying to live out the vision that John Maynard Keynes had outlined in his essay "The Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren" written some 70 years prior.

Fitehouse: Josh's Post-Mexico Band

After his disappointing experience with Warner Brothers Music in Mexico, Josh's decides that he isn't going to wait around for someone to "discover" the band. He undertakes a series of self-promotional campaigns including an effort to have their song "Baltimore" declared the official rock anthem of the city!

Many of the marketing efforts were punctuated with postcard campaigns: â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

The "Open" Campaign

Showing the way for music in a post-recording-industry world, Josh's band Fitehouse undertakes a campaign to promote "open" culture. They send out a unique series of Scratch-and-Sniff postcards to media.

The band punctuates the series with the release of an "open source" song called Meridian. (releasing the raw tracks under a modified GNU General Public License)
